Health Professions Application Workshop

Fall Semester - Health Professions Application Workshop Part 1: Planning

The Health Professions Application Workshops are designed to prepare students for the application process for health professions schools. The workshops are recommended for Pre-Health juniors and seniors or alumni who are planning to apply the next summer.

Students in their application year should begin planning early, during fall semester. We will review recommendations for proper and effective planning for the application process.

Topics covered include:

  • Self assessment of your readiness
  • Application timeline and important dates
  • Test preparation 
  • Financial readiness
  • Understanding personal statements and letters of recommendation processes 

 

Spring Semester - Health Professions Application Workshop Part 2: How-To

This workshop will focus on teaching students how to compose a high quality application based on their pre-health portfolio. We will review logistics, components and details of the applications

Topics covered include: 

  • Reviewing test preparation progress
  • Centralized application services
  • Application components 
  • Selecting professional schools 
  • Refining the personal statement 
  • Transcript process
  • Letter of recommendation packet management process (for medical and podiatric medical school applicants)
