What is Tyehimba?
Tyehimba is the Afrocentric Celebration designed for graduates of the ÷ to acknowledge their achievements. The wordTyehimbameans “We Stand as a Nation,” and this celebration recognizes students and the village that have helped them reach this milestone.
How do I register and what do I get?
The registration link and additional information will be provided early March.
Registration includes:

Submit your registration informationonlineand pay the registration fee by credit card via ourpayment site, or with a money order by visiting or mailing it tothe African American Cultural & Resource Center located at 60 W Charlton St. Money orders should be addressed to the ÷. No personal checks will be accepted.

Important things to know:
All graduates must provide their own mortarboard cap and gown, and should you choose to wear it, a kente cloth stole. The AACRC will have a limited number of customized kente cloth stoles (pictured above) available to purchase for an additional $25. If you wish to order an AACRC stole, please indicate it on your online registration form and purchase the stole on our payment site. You can also purchase non-customized kente cloth stoles from the ÷ bookstore and Kilimanjaro Art Store at the corner of Ludlow and Clifton Ave. The AACRC stoles will be provided of rehearsal unless otherwise requested.
