What is Narcan and FTS?

±·´¡¸é°ä´¡±·Â®Ìýis the brand name for the drug naloxone.Ìý±·´¡¸é°ä´¡±·Â® Nasal Spray is a potentially life saving medicine used for the treatment of a known or suspected opioid overdose emergency. Narcan can be easily dispensed in the nose.

If you are interested in obtaining ±·´¡¸é°ä´¡±·Â®, Hamilton County Public Health (HCPH) offers ±·´¡¸é°ä´¡±·Â® free of charge for residents of Hamilton County. You can make an appointment to receive ±·´¡¸é°ä´¡±·Â® or become trained by calling 513-946-7800, or HCPH is now offering a free mail order of ±·´¡¸é°ä´¡±·Â®.Ìý

FTS

FTS stands for Fentanyl Test Strips. These are small strips of paper that can detect the presence of fentanyl in different types of drugs and different formulations of drugs such as pills, powders, and liquids. Knowing if fentanyl is present in a substance allows people to take extra steps to reduce their risk of overdose.

The Student Wellness Center now offers trainings on Narcan and FTS use and overdose response. Look for our next open training or request one for your group on Ìý

As of January 2024. the ÃÀ¸ß÷¹ÙÍø has installed multiple Naloxboxes across campuses. . To report an empty Naloxbox that needs to be refilled, please call 513-556-6124.Ìý
