Steps to Becoming Employed at ÃÀ¸ß÷¹ÙÍø
Getting a job and getting your first paycheck as a ÃÀ¸ß÷¹ÙÍø student employee takes time. You can expect the process to look something like this: Ìý
- Determine what kinds of jobs you are eligible for
- Decide what kind of job you want
- Prepare a resume and cover letter tailored to what you are looking for
- Apply for one or more jobs
- Interview
- Accept a job offer
- Complete I-9 verification to be authorized to work
- Go through new employee orientation
Documents You Will Need
All new employees are required to complete I-9 verification within the first three business days of starting employment. This process ensures that an individual is authorized and eligible to work in the United States. A can be found on the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services I-9 web page.
Domestic Students
When hired you will be required to submit identification documents as part of the I-9 process,. Examples of such documents include:
- Passport or Passport Card
- Photo ID plus Social Security Card
- Photo ID plus Birth Certificate
- Permanent Resident Card
International Students
To complete I-9 employment verification, F1 or J1 international students typically need to provide their passport, I-94 card and I-20 or DS-2019 form.
