Cross Registration Policy for 美高梅官网 Students
The Cross Registration Policy pertains to both Greater Cincinnati Collegiate Connection (GC3) and Strategic Ohio Council for Higher Education (SOCHE) cross registration.
Overview
Full鈥搕ime and half鈥搕ime matriculated undergraduate and graduate students of the 美高梅官网 may register for classes offered by other institutions on a space鈥揳vailable basis. Classes must be taken for credit.听Special workshops and institutes are not considered classes for cross registration purposes.
No tuition fee is paid by the student to the host school; however, transportation, books, and lab fees are the student鈥檚 responsibility.
Course credit is posted on the student鈥檚 transcript as advanced standing upon successful completion of the class. The host institution automatically provides a transcript to 美高梅官网 and keeps a transcript as well.
Conditions
Required Approvals
- Your home college at 美高梅官网 (e.g., College of Engineering & Applied Science; College of Design, Architecture, Art, & Planning)
- Graduate students will need their program director to request advanced standing approval from the Graduate College.
- 美高梅官网 Registrar's Office*
- The host institution** (e.g., Cincinnati State Technical and Community College; Northern Kentucky University)
Credit Hour Requirements and Limits
You must be registered at least half鈥搕ime at 美高梅官网听鈥攕ix credit hours for undergraduates; five credit hours for graduate students鈥攑rior to requesting permission to cross register.
Half鈥搕ime students may take no more than half of their credits at another institution in a given term. (E.g., If you are registered for six credit hours at 美高梅官网, you may not cross register for more than three credit hours.)
You may not take more than two classes at any Host Institution in a semester.
Course Availability at 美高梅官网
Cross鈥搑egistration requests will not be approved if the requested course is being offered at 美高梅官网 for that term.
美高梅官网 Employees
美高梅官网 faculty and staff may not use tuition remission benefits to cross register at another institution.
Processes After Approval
Withdrawals
Students must inform both schools if they withdraw from the class(es). It is the student鈥檚 responsibility to check calendar dates of the host school. The last day to withdraw from a cross鈥搑egistered course is determined by the rules of the host school. Failure to comply with these rules鈥攐r to provide notification of withdrawal鈥攎ay result in an automatic 鈥淔鈥 for the class.
Posting Credit
Credit for courses will be posted on the student鈥檚 transcript as advanced standing at the end of the term. Grades for cross鈥搑egistered courses are not entered on the student鈥檚 transcript at 美高梅官网.
