  2. Verify that the Deadline hasn't passed.
  3. Gather your聽Required Supporting Documentation.
  4. Submit your Kentucky Residency Application.

Important: Applications are only reviewed for current鈥搕erm eligibility. It is the student's responsibility to submit an application by the application deadline listed above. The application deadlines are strictly enforced, and submissions for past鈥搕erm eligibility will not be considered.

Also note: Fee payment deadlines cannot be extended while a student鈥檚 residency application is being reviewed. Students may opt to pay by using the University鈥檚 tuition payment plan. Information on payment plans can be found on the Bursar's webpage.

Required Supporting Documentation

Applications submitted without all required documentation as listed below will not be reviewed.

You must submit at least two of the following documents. If you are not a US Citizen, you will also need to submit your current immigration or Visa status.

  • A current signed lease or deed
  • Student's valid Kentucky driver鈥檚 license or state ID
  • Vehicle registration
  • Student's Kentucky state income tax return for the most recent tax year
  • A valid Kentucky driver鈥檚 license for your parent or spouse
  • Your parent federal tax returns for the most recent tax year listing you as dependent
  • Your spouse's federal tax returns for the most recent tax year
  • Your current immigration or Visa status (if applicable, this is required)
  • Your parent or spouse's current immigration or Visa status (if applicable, this is required)

Please note that this application is used for all Kentucky residency rates. Our office will determine the best rate available based on your eligibility.
